Display ads are our primary revenue source. When you see ads on the site, we earn a small amount based on views and clicks. We work with ad networks that respect your experience — no pop-ups, no autoplay video, and no ads that interfere with calculators or results. Ad revenue funds the server costs, data subscriptions, and time it takes to keep rate data current.
Affiliate Commissions
Some of our guides include links to products like EcoFlow battery systems, Jackery portable power stations, and items on Amazon. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, we earn a small commission — typically 5-8% — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the store.

Tesla Referral Credits
When we link to Tesla products (Powerwall, vehicles), we use a personal referral link. If you purchase through it, both you and our editor receive Supercharging credits. These credits cannot be converted to cash and cannot be applied to a Tesla auto loan — they are purely Supercharging and Tesla store credits.

How Recommendations Work
Our product recommendations are based on publicly available specifications, verified manufacturer data, real Arizona utility rates (APS, SRP, TEP), and analysis of how each product performs under Arizona-specific conditions — extreme heat, monsoon outages, and time-of-use rate structures.
We are transparent about what we know and don't know. Where we have not personally tested a product, we say so and rely on manufacturer specs, verified customer reviews, and Arizona-specific performance data. Our About page explains our methodology in detail.

Every calculator on this site uses real APS, SRP, and TEP rate data plus NREL solar production estimates. No sales pitch, no lead generation — just accurate math to help you make informed decisions about solar, batteries, and energy costs in Arizona.
